Charlotte Ross: If It’s Okay to Show Her Behind on TV, What is Next???

Do you remember back in 2003 when “NYPD Blue” showed Charlotte Ross’s tush? ABC was slapped with $1.21 million in fines for violating broadcast indecency standards.The US Second Circuit Court of Appeals says that ABC does not have to pay these fines because “nudity itself is not per se indecent.”
Well, if networks know that they aren’t going to be slapped with fines for showing nudity, they might be more inclined to include it in their shows, just for the ratings.  It’s one thing to turn on a channel like HBO or Showtime and see nudity: we as parents have to be aware that those sorts of channels might be showing more than we want our kids to see. But, a network like ABC or CBS? Yes, we know that not all of the content is appropriate for our children, but I don’t usually worry about them seeing something they shouldn’t on those networks.
