Nebraska Football

Wisconsin outclassed Nebraska as the later laid a B1G EGG on Saturday. It lost against Wisconsin by 48-17. The loss was so huge in terms of scores as well as in term of loss itself. Wisconsin was already leading 14-13 in the second quarter, turned three consecutive Taylor Martinez interceptions in 21 points and insured the win.
So, what did we learn from Nebraska’s rough introduction into the B1G Conference is that Nebraska Must Improve Before the Wisconsin Game.

John Wayne Gacy Remarks About Michele Bachmann

Michele Bachmann is Republican presidential candidate for the next term. Actor John Wayne was from her Waterloo, Iowa hometown. The actor termed her "a substantive, serious person" who would be a good president.
While she announced being a presidential candidate,Bachman flubbed her hometown history in declaring "John Wayne was from Waterloo" and "that's the kind of spirit that I have, too." But the actor was born nearly 150 miles away, the GOP congresswoman told CNN on Tuesday.
"I wish I could be perfect," Bachmann said. "I'm a substantive, serious person" who has "good sense on how to turn the economy around" as president.

Famous Portrait Of The Iconic Outlaw Billy The Kid Tintype is Up For Auction In Denver

Is he a southpaw? The belief was not placed rightly. He, Billy the Kid was a famous outlaw. His iconic portrait is up for sale this weekend.
The image is a tintype and probably taken around 1879 or 1880 in Fort Sumner, N.M., showing the gunslinger with a Winchester rifle in his right hand and a Colt revolver holstered on his left is thought to be the only surviving depiction of the man also known as William H. Bonney.
Please remember tintype images are reverse. So forget the idea that Billy was a lefty. But it was widely believed. Many still believed so. The misinformation was so widespread that Paul Newman played the outlaw in the 1958 Western "The Left Handed Gun."
The portrait is set to be auctioned in Denver on Saturday at the 22nd Annual Old West Show & Auction.

Miss California,Alyssa Campanella has been Crowned Miss USA 2011

Alyssa Campanella hails from Los Angeles. She began modeling at 16, graduated from high school a year early and received a scholarship to the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. She is America's latest Miss, a California model and self-described history geek. She has been reported as obsessed with Britain's monarchy of centuries past and a fan of "Star Wars."
She may still keep modeling. Her career has just begun after her run as Miss USA is finished. She is hopeful of representing the country at Miss Universe in September in Brazil.
She was strutting across the stage in a blue bikini with white polka dots, then donned a dark turquoise Sherri Hill evening gown with beading on its top. She rejected marijuana as a medicine while responding a question. This is how she expressed her love for history.
"I'm obsessed with the Stuart and Tudor era," Campanella said. "Whenever I go to Barnes & Noble I'm always in the history section and that is where you will find me."
"I watch `Game of Thrones,' I watched `Camelot' - I know those are fantasy but I also watch the Tudors, so I'm a huge history geek," she said.
And she added she grew up watching "Star Wars."
"I was going through a tough time in high school and she thought it'd be a great way for me to meet other girls throughout the state," she said. "It's Mom's fault."

Chattahoochee Technical College

Chattahoochee Technical College is located in Marietta, GA. It serves 13,000 students in eight campuses located in the six counties however; the problem is common for smaller colleges and universities to encourage the desire to devote more resources to the web reinforcement and many students find the site of the College almost imperceptible. Today is the first day of registration at Chattahoochee Technical College. Online registration, no doubt, helps many students to register online rather than drive towards both college and spending time in lines. But denial to access the site for registration is a real problem that is not being handled rightly. Even social sites like twitter are silent about it.
The Webmaster however, has helped alot by providing a link to the college Facebook page for updated details. It reads “CTC Webmaster – Today is the first day of registration so you may notice a slowdown in the school’s website. This is caused by a large number of students accessing BannerWeb and Class Schedule S ‘ please be patient since it is common for this time of the semester."

Presidents Day 2011

Every one in United States know how to celebrate Presidents Day. Is it like merely saying each other "Happy President Day" Many people like us would definitely like to remember our former presidents. Many of us again would like to remember them in an hounerable way. If you're like us, you'd rather spend today remembering our ex commanders-in-chief for few ridiculous things they did. FDR for instance made some wonderful changes side by side with a movie on his credit. Abraham Lincoln and John F Kennedy were instrumental in ending slavery and inspiring a generation with American Nationalism.Very few, however also remember them for winning a wrestling match and getting into Harvard respectively?
All these wonderful and fascinating things are just ignored in the dirt of history. Our history however, keep these fascinating tidbits in store for the future generation and generation to keep them enlightened. We will keep our slide show updated and keep posted the audience on the occasions like this. Just see for instance "in 1954, Ronald Reagan was an actor. His career was not going so well rather so bad that he was forced to take a gig as a stand-up comic for a few weeks.

Gypsy Rose Lee

Gypsy Rose Lee, famous for her striptease was an American burlesque artist. She was borne on January 8, 1911 in Seattle and died on April 26, 1970. Apart from her fame as a dancer she was an actress, author and playwright as well. In a musical film Gypsy, her memory was rewritten in 1957. Her real name was Rosa Louise Hovick however, she was first known by her first name, Louise.   Her mother, Rose Hovick was married to Norwegian and American John Olaf Hovick, who was working in Seattle Times as reporter.
Her parents got divorced. Gypsy Rose Lee and her sister started supporting the family by appearing in vaudeville. Louise remained at the backstage most of the time in the beginning. Louise singing and dancing talents were insufficient for the act without June, her sister who had already eloped. She finally decided to make money in burlesque, which earned him legendary status as a striptease artist. An accident in the beginning pushed her career forward. Her shoulder strap on one of her dresses slipped, causing her dress to fall at her feet. She was still encouraged by audience reaction and continued to go round and round. This innovation on her part has been named as casual strip style something away from the erratic styles of most burlesque strippers.
She changed her stage name as Gypsy Rose Lee and became one of the biggest stars of Minsky’s Burlesque. In 1969 she was diagnosed as suffering from lung cancer. Her sufferings led her to reconcile with June before death. She was a big supporter of the Popular Front in the Spanish Civil War and raised money for charity to alleviate the suffering of children during the Spanish conflict. She is buried in Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, California.

Elie Tahari

At back stage Elie Tahari was on line with the media men at New York Fashion Week on Wednesday.  He said his fall collection begins with the letter “L.” L symbolizes love; This is luxury, luxurious, sumptuous.” Tahari added that he sees the woman he dressed as “S-EX-y and smart.” He made a smart move by adding leather, lace and leopard to his list. Tahari has a romantic look, no doubt. If his classics are combined with pure fluid and solid materials and devices, his products looks marvelous. His collections were divided in color when models strolled down the track. The change was very much visible from black to white to brown and beige dark and later finishing with Burgundy. His is really creative by flowing chiffon on lace or lace fell over chiffon to create effects pure. Sleeves were wide and loose. Fox fur functioned as vests, scarves and stoles. Beautiful animal prints also appeared on skirts, jackets and pants. “This dress,” he said. “It’s looking good while feeling good and being happy.”

Jeffrey Earnhardt ready for Daytona

Jeffrey Earnhardt, the talented boy has jumped in. The green flag has dropped in Daytona for the first event of 2011. The crowd is bulging out day by day. As the crowd rises, for the first event of the 2011, 25 race campaigns to become Rookie of the Year in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
The other rookie candidates certainly bring talent; none of them come with the name recognition. Earning Rookie-of-the-Year is not a joke. Jeffrey Earnhardt has talent. There is no doubt in it and there’s also no doubt he will have to earn it.  Almost six to eight drivers are vying for the spot, and they all are heavily talented. Most of them are supporting Fuel Doctor and Jeffery. Their support gives Jeffrey a fighting chance.
Earnhardt is a double edged sword. It’s a blessing from a marketing standpoint, but without a doubt, the NASCAR fan base has higher expectations for Jeffrey than any other rookie. Certainly we should not ignore him from this pressure, but some certain measures should be taken to keep him focused for the important task in hand.
Earnhardt may not have any rust buildup from an off-season, one thing is for sure. Earnhardt, after participating in three different tests in December and January, competed in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona in a Fuel Doctor Porsche GT with Rick Ware Racing. But he and his crew finished 11th in the GT Class and 25th overall. He took the wheel for many stints including a grueling double at night in the thick fog as well as the final leg of the event.
It was a 24 Hours race and an excellent stepping stone for Jeffrey. He acquired lots of road experience. It is something absolutely valuable at this stage for his career, and he served many hours on the road that may keep him sharp and at winning spree. Jeffrey’s booming talent makes him well prepared to fight for the Rookie of the Year title.

Washoe County School District

Assemblywoman Debbie Smith, D-Reno, is about to introduce a bill.  Washoe County School District, Assembly Democrats recognized the bill as negative. They believe that jobs would open a large hole in the budget proposed by Governor Brian Sandoval. The bill was supposed to allow school districts to use part of their reserve funds to finance the rehabilitation of schools and to address crumbling schools side by side to put construction workers back to work.
Earlier she had proposed that money should be funded in operating costs of districts. However, Clark County School District officials rejected it by saying that they rely on that money to make bond payments in the face of property values plummeting. By spending funds like that would mean to restructure its debt at a substantial cost. On the other hand Bill Smith intends to help Washoe County, which has access to much less than the capital Fund-Clark County. He simply wants to rehabilitate his previous school.
So he has stepped up with his bill that would allow districts to use these reserves if it were a financially viable option for them. Remember Sandoval proposal would require school districts to use the money to support basic school.

It is used to chasing squirrels and deer all day on a big farm.” She was obviously referencing the show’s setting at New York’s Madison Square Garden. “

CBS sends a YouTube takedown to itself

TV industry love hate relationship with YouTube has found another example. A CBS website, hosting a YouTube clip has been removed due to a copyright claim from CBS. Does not sound strange? It is a fact my dear.
It was a third party posts clip of a reporter where he was speaking in a strange tone at the Grammy's on youtube. To the worse of it, the blog hosted on CBS' website embeded the clip posted by the third party. Resultantly CBS filed a DMCA  takedown request on the third party's video and the video goes missing from their own stories as a result.

Lara Logan's Good Looks Are Coming Under Attack Too

Lara Logan raped in Egypt? The question kept many aghast because rape can never be neglected in a light mood neither it can be joked about. Is it the way to justify the rape because the victim is so attractive? The brutal assault on Lara Logan, The CBS correspondent, capturing the revolution in Egypt can no way be justified or shrugged away by merely describing it the cause of her good looks. As it was reported she was raped during night of celebration. She was viciously assaulted on February 11th. Now she is safely back and is recuperating in the hospital. Interestingly few are propagating that just because she happened to be blond and attractive, so the kind of attack was inevitable.
What actually happened is that on 3rd February Lara Logan had been detained in Egypt. One of the blog said, “OMG if I were her captors and there were no sanctions for doing so?  I would totally rape her.”  The fantasy became true and the blog’s posting was deleted with the addition of terming it a joke saying, “Super funny joke deleted in light of the sad news that Lara Logan actually was raped in Egypt.
The blog was not the only one in the race terming it a joke. The LA Weekly writer Simone Wilson believed that the reason behind her rape was “shocking good looks and ballsy knack for pushing her way to the heart of the action.”  Lara Logan describes it like that “In a rush of frenzied excitement, some Egyptian protesters apparently consummated their new found independence by sexually assaulting her.”  World is amazed to see is it the way Egyptians celebrate? Should not be questioned that beauty should be treated like that? Should it deserve to be raped? Is it justified?

Where In The World Are We Headed? A Riddle, Wrapped In A Mystery Inside An Enigma.

That’s the way Winston Churchill, whose 1939 words we borrowed for our headline this week, where he asked about America, might answer the questions of today.  In foreign affairs America did its best in the past two years to reshape her relationships with the rest of the world.  So far very little have been achieved in this context, I believe the Americans have made little progress in this context.
At home, according to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office, we may overspend more than $1.5 trillion this year, on top of $1.3 trillion we overspent last year.  Michael Boskin, Professor of economics at Stanford University believe that the spending being made by this government is likely to add more to our debt during President Obama’s first term than all the debt accumulated by all the previous governments.
It is believed by everybody that President Obama himself may not like to continue in his office without any real economic turnaround. The question rises does the Administration want to see real economic growth in the country?  He must have been pursuing policies to achieve the goal of real economic turnaround? To the ultimate disappointment of the nation his Administration is spending much more effort stoking the fiscal fire than dousing it. Mr. Obama has almost ignored the recommendations of even his own Debt and Deficit Commission, making it easy for the Republicans and Democrats to oppose the commission’s recommendations.  The analysts like Douglas Holtz-Eakin believe that U.S. debt may lose its AAA credit rating within the next three years.
Moreover, the financial condition of the many states is worse than the federal fiscal state.  As the federal government may tend to print money to meet it’s spending that the other states do not have.  These states, collectively, will have to wait for the worst things to happen. Almost every state faces substantial budget shortfalls.  The economic stimulus money that flowed to the states has run out.  Meanwhile, few states have done anything to trim their often-bloated budgets, largely because the stimulus money shielded them from the need to practice any semblance of frugality.
Economic Policy Journal reads that the US Treasury has been conducting a shadow bailout of at least 32 states. According to the Journal, over 60% of Americans receiving state unemployment benefits have been getting these payments because the federal government stepped in to cover the commitments but the states are in no position to cover. It does not mean that federal government has lots of money to cover the states expenses in every way they mean. Just see, the $40 billion in unemployment benefits advanced to the states by the federation is a small part of the $3 trillion in estimated unfunded liabilities that now reside at the state and local level.
The worse things may yet be in the waiting for the states as their representatives to Congress who were supposed to rein in spending and cut the deficit, are in no mood to serve the cause.
Is this state debt a long term and infrastructure related and not an operating expense? The question may need many economic experts to brood over the related liabilities. Believe it or not, while some states have, in fact, been mindful of the need to balance obligations with their real income, the states like Illinois, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Kentucky, Kansas, and California have recklessly committed themselves to pension obligations without taking responsible steps to fund those commitments.
I hope that every single voter of the nation knows that we may have to undergo many painful processes in bailing out the nation from the economic nightmare. It will be better for us to face the reality as sooner as possible and the reality is that there are no “untouchables” in these budgets other than the debt service incurred to those who have loaned money to the government.  The Republicans and Democrats are going to be treated by the press they deserve.

Date Night with Herb Alpert and Lani Hall at Retro Valentine

Do not forget a fabulous Valentines gift – the live show of Herb Alpert (of The Tijuana Brass) and Lani Hall (his wife and ex-lead singer of Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66.) These are two of the favorites with easy listening of jazz 1960′s music groups. The historic Keswick Theatre in Glenside PA next Friday is the wonderful venue not to be missed.
Did you remember that people of my age used to listen Whipped Cream and Other Delights while dancing and growing up together, I am a serious fan of Alpert’s interpretations of standards and his originals. Sergio Mendes and Brazil 66′s album Look Around is one I picked up and it always brings good memories!
At the event we are planning to start off the evening with a few cocktails at our vintage inspired bar / lounge / restaurant The Blue Comet just down the road from the theatre. The vibe and food there is marvelous, and one should be glad because this rockabilly haven has reopened.

Betty Garrett The Actress

Betty Garret has passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2011. Her son Garrett Sinatra disclosed to the media. One must remember that the actress graced the Broadway stage and played Frank Sinatra’s love interest twice onscreen. She was 91 years old and died because of aortic aneurysm. Betty is survived by her two sons Garrett and Andrew, two daughters-in-law and a granddaughter.
Her two most famous movie roles were in “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” and “On the Town,” both movies were produced in 1949. It is a bit tragic to remember that Garrett was blacklisted from Hollywood and her film career was cut short. Her husband, Larry Parks, had to testify to HUACC about his membership in the community party. They were both blacklisted thereafter.
In 1970s and even in 1980s Garrett went on to ensure her appearances in both “All in the Family” and “Laverne and Shirley”. But the most interesting is her most recent work that included guest-starring roles on “Boston Public,” “Becker” and “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Have Diamondbacks Nothing on the Pythagorean Theorem?

Some believe that Pythagorean Theorem can be proved in many ways.  Arizona Diamondbacks could not show mettle on the field, last season as they were ready to compete in a day in day out basis.  However, with the changes made in the off-season, there are proofs that Diamondbacks are trying to improve. Even at the end of this season the result may still not be readily available.
Changes in the DBacks are remarkable and very visible. The changes mark the improvements. The subtraction of Mark Reynolds‘.198 average and 200 plus annual strikeouts and addition of Melvin Mora, a nice guy that has the reputation of striking out, are meaningful. Moreover, Adam Laroche has been replaced with Juan Miranda.
Pitching staff has not been left unchanged. Lots of changes have been made there as well simply to improve and improve. But few still question! “Have they made enough in this field?” Just see now. Some of last season’s problem pitchers are still on the bullpen roster.  Esmerling Vasquez, Aaron Heilman, Jordan Noberto, and Carlos Rosa are still kicking around.  Vasquez didn’t do much in 2010.
Lastly their competition on daily basis would be the real proof of Dbacks improvement.  No doubt winning matters but if the Dbacks remained parallel to their competitors this season, that doesn’t necessarily prove one thing over another.  Side by side they will have to reduce errors, change clubhouse attitude and will have to be mature enough to handle the losses differently and respond to adversity.

Maksim Gelman Suspected for Stabbing Aleksandr Kuznetsov

The photos of Maksim Gelman, the 23-year-old have been released. He is suspected of stabbing his 54-year-old stepfather, Aleksandr Kuznetsov, earlier this morning. It has been confirmed by the police authorities that he made his getaway in a gray 2004 Lexus ES330 bearing New York license plate DHE8322. Most probably it was a domestic dispute wherein Aleksandr Kuznetsov was pronounced dead at the scene.
Anthony Riggio, a super at the Waterview Village told the journalists “I guess he had to be a little bonkers at the time. He must’ve just caught him by surprise,” It’s a sad thing. Never in a million years.” He has been living condos on East 27th Street and Emmons Avenue, where Kuznetsov, Gelman and his mother had been living for 9 years. It is reported that Gelman has a police record – since the photographs looks like a mug shot

UNEMPLOYMENT in NYS

Sometimes one feels strange about the way the local authorities work and decide about the government policies.  It is really worrisome to think that why would managers want residents to pay more in taxes as they raised taxes by 20 percent last year. Is not it Board’s continued mistakes?
Salaries of the staff were raised by 8 percent last year. That’s not even bad as they considered raising it by 12 percent. So an 8 percent increase for municipal employees, who already get good jobs and good benefits, during an economic downturn in a village with a population of 730 people was not bad?
The most important thing to remember is that these Forestville increase came when the U.S. unemployment rate was a matter of concern and inflation in the United. States was almost nonexistent. Of course, the village wants its customers to ante up more as managers cannot control their own village expenses therefore they reach out your neighbors and make them pay the penalty for poor decisions of the local authorities.
The authorities remind that since Forestville often broke the law from 2005 to 2009, therefore revenues from Fire Department $ 350,831, costs through the village remained $ 193,092, which is a surplus of $ 157,739 in the village coffers.
Recently, New York State economy lost 22 600 Private sector jobs, or by 0.3%, as reported by state Labor Department today. Similarly non-farm sector job count in New York fell by 0.3%, in only December 2010. Please remember that non-agricultural job count tracks all jobs in the private and public sectors. However, it does not count self employed or workers on farms.
On the other hand New York State adjusted unemployment rate by 8.2% in December 2010, opposed to 8.3% in November. Statistically speaking, the number of unemployed New York State residents has dropped from 797 600 in November to 792.8 thousand in December 2010.

The race used to start from NC State Belltower and each runner used to run 2 miles to the Krispy Kreme store located on Peace St. in Raleigh. Brooke Wilberger: Mother Shows Incredible Grace

Brooke Wilberger, a beautiful girl was tragically killed by a man called Joel Courtney. Her stoty was aired tonight, and perhaps the most incredible part of the story is the fact that Brooke Wilberger’s mother thanked Joel Courtney for finally disclosing the location where Brooke’s body was burried after he took her life.Brooke Wilberger was kidnapped from a housing complex by Joel Courtney. He lured her to his car by asking her for help in moving a package, but when she came near to him, he held a knife to her and forced her to get into the car. Sadly, Brooke’s life ended in a wooded area about 10 miles away from where she was taken.
During the ultimate fight for justice, Brooke’s mother and siblings made a deal with Joel Courtney. He was given life in prison in New Mexico in exchange for disclosing where Brooke’s remains were burried. In a press conference after his conviction, Brooke Wilberger’s mother expressed gratitude towards Joel Courtney for finally bringing closure to her family on what happened to Brooke. She said thatas a mother, I’m not sure that I could have shown the same act of compassion.

Omar Suleiman Named Egyptian Vice President.

In a dramatic move after eruption of violence against prolonged rule of President Husni Mubarak in Egypt, Omar Suleiman, intelligence chief has been named as vice president of Egypt. He had earlier remained a negotiator between the Israelis and Palestinians.
The history reveals that Husni Mubarak who is Egyptian President since 1981 has never appointed a vice president. Quite recently he sent the government packing after the mass scaled eruption of violent protest demonstration in major cities that has killed more than 50 citizens so far. Many analysts view the move a critical one that may be transitional and the stepping down by Mr. Mubarak may follow.
The step is a major indication. Husni Mubarak’s earlier plans to thrown his son Gamal Mubarak may not work. It has been reported his sons have already reached London.
Mr. Omar Suleiman’s relationship with the military, western powers are also one of the critical indicators for his elevation as vice president that may further help him to accede to the power corridors as president.
