Harbaugh doesn't take bait on officiating

The officiating crew – led by referee Jeff Triplette – had its fair share of rough moments in the Ravens’ 31-24 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Saturday’s AFC Divisional playoff game. From asking the scorekeepers to add time to the play clock to conferring over flags that were eventually rescinded, the officials had an uneven day.
Their performance could come under even more scrutiny as some media analysts have cited the holding penalty on Marcus Smith that wiped out Lardarius Webb’s 55-yard punt return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter as questionable and the officials missed a Steelers offensive lineman holding defensive tackle Haloti Ngata on the goal-line play that rookie nose tackle Terrence Cody drew a holding penalty of his own.Ravens coach John Harbaugh declined to grade the crew’s performance.
