Omar Suleiman Named Egyptian Vice President.

In a dramatic move after eruption of violence against prolonged rule of President Husni Mubarak in Egypt, Omar Suleiman, intelligence chief has been named as vice president of Egypt. He had earlier remained a negotiator between the Israelis and Palestinians.
The history reveals that Husni Mubarak who is Egyptian President since 1981 has never appointed a vice president. Quite recently he sent the government packing after the mass scaled eruption of violent protest demonstration in major cities that has killed more than 50 citizens so far. Many analysts view the move a critical one that may be transitional and the stepping down by Mr. Mubarak may follow.
The step is a major indication. Husni Mubarak’s earlier plans to thrown his son Gamal Mubarak may not work. It has been reported his sons have already reached London.
Mr. Omar Suleiman’s relationship with the military, western powers are also one of the critical indicators for his elevation as vice president that may further help him to accede to the power corridors as president.

Your guide to Gasparilla 2011

It’s time for annual Tampa’s Gasparilla Pirate Fest. Few important facts about the subject event are here.
Jose Gaspar was 18th century Bay area Pirate. It is boasted that he had buried treasure somewhere along the Florida Coast. It is adopted as the swashbuckling patron of Tampa’s first city festival in 1904.
Interestingly the parade and live entertainment events are free however; the reserved seats can be purchased at www.gasparillapiratefest.com. The tickets that are available for the Gasparilla Invasion Brunch and lunch buffet are available on prices ranging from $16.82 to $ 92.52.
 Parking facility is also available for the visitors. They can park their vehicles at Ybor garages for three hours after paying $1 and $4 for a longer time. Shuttles however, will not be available this year for the event. The parking map can also been seen at the web page. www.gasparillafest.com. The cars already parked along the parade route on 28th January will be toed if not removed by 10 p.m.
The TELCO Line Streetcar will cruise between Ybor City and down town Tampa from 9 a.m to 2:30 a. m. Similarly HART line will follow normal Saturday service. For more information please contact 813-254-4278.
 Visitors are advised to bring comfortable shoes, paraphernalia, hands free purses or backpacks and cash acceptable for vendors only. Visitors can contact the administration for their lost items after the event at 813-251-8844. They must not bring glass and Styrofoam containers or coolers, unapproved and outside advertisement, fence, ropes or large non human objects to use as placeholders before or during the parade. Weapons and drugs are strictly prohibited.
Please understand the police have been instructed to adopt zero tolerance policy. Only restrooms should be used for taking rests. Please avoid fights and drunken misconduct. Underage are strictly directed not to consume alcohol. Flashing for beads and nudity will not be tolerated at Gasparilla.
January 29 is expected to remain partly cloudy with temperature as high as 67 degrees. But remember the events already scheduled will continue in rains as well as in sunshine. However, in sudden and dangerous weather situation any event can be cancelled.
Docking facility is limited. So the vessels by the Tampa Convention Center or the Mariana along Bayshore Boulevard can be used. The Tampa Parks Departments can be called at 813-259-1604 for information.
Outside snacks are allowed but drinks should be strictly non alcoholic. On the other hand the event managers have also requested to support local vendors. These vendors have a variety of food, drinks and different items. Beer and Captain Rum will also be available. Alcohols are available inside but they will donate hundred percent of net revenue to Bay area charities. Approximately 1,600 Port-o-lets will be docked along the parade route as restrooms. Use them.

Alexander The Great

Alexander the Great was Alexander III of Macedonia. His period was extended from 356 to 323 BC. So it can be safely derived that Alexander the Great was Macedonian. Macedonia is located in the northeast of Greece. Alexander has the honour of creating one of the greatest empires of the ancient history that stretched from the Mediterranean to the Himalayas. Alexander the Great remained undefeated and was thus considered a most successful commander. The record of history shows him born in 356 BC. He was not illiterate rather well educated by the well known philosopher, Aristotle. He was throned in 336 BC after the assassination of his father, Philip II of Macedonia. His father had bought most of the city states of Greece who were under Macedonian hegemony at that time and her military and diplomatic resources.

         

Alexander the great inherited a strong kingdom and an experienced army after the death of his father. His well managed authority helped him to launch his plan of the expansion of military. Most of these plans had remained unfulfilled by his father. He invaded Persia in 334 BC along with Asia Minor and continued his ruling spree for the ten years. In this connection the battles of Issus and Gaugamela are very important. During theses wars he overthrew the king of Persia, King Darius III and conquered entire Persia. With this conquest his kingdom stretched from Adriatic to the Indus.

Alexander the great had the inborn desire of ruling the world. He wanted to reach the end of the world and the “Great Outer Sea”. He invaded India in 326 BC but ha had to retreat due to mutiny in his own forces. He finally died in Babylon in 323 BC. He never realized that he had planned a series of invasion of Arabia. The death of Alexander turned to be the downfall of his empire. It tore apart into number of states.

A Hellenistic culture arose from the Greek colonists which remained visible in the traditions of the Byzantine Empire until 15^th century. Therefore, Alexander became a legendary hero in the classics of Achilles that has an important place in mythology of Greek and non Greek culture. Alexander became a measure for the modern world generals and military academies all over the world in order to teach his military tactics. Alexander” is one of the most popular names in the world, perhaps because of the legendary exploits of Alexander the Great.Even Chinese today have started using his name in their business even traveling. Their version of Alexander in china is often named as Yalshanda that means “under a mountain of pressure.”
